The Need: Since 2001, there have been over 2.8 million veterans returning to civilian life. Within the next four years, at least one million more will transition. Higher unemployment rates, confusion about where and how to access benefits, and strained personal relationships are some of the problems veterans face once home. Finding a job that matches a veteran's skills and abilities has proven especially challenging for many. Many young veterans do not know how to translate their valuable skills into the civilian language needed to find work in this unfamiliar job market. Many also do not know how to network, to build an effective resume, or to determine what to do next about their career or education. This is why returning veterans need the accessible, direct guidance that we provide through our 1-on-1 individual coaching sessions.
We are a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving post 9/11 transitioning military veterans, their spouses, and caregivers as they plan new careers or educational goals upon reintegration to civilian life. We coach them to set and achieve their personal, financial, academic, or professional goals through our comprehensive Coaching for Veterans program. Our Mission: Our mission is to coach and empower America's veterans and their spouses/caregivers to achieve success at work, at home and in their communities. Whether it is finding employment, starting new businesses, completing their educations, improving personal relationships, assessing for new vocations, or locating health care to fully meet their needs, SBT coaches are here to help veterans transition to civilian life. Our national program has 155 certified life, business, career, wellness, educational, executive, and leadership coaches in 30 states so far. Our coaches understand the difficulty of transitioning from military to academic or corporate cultures. Currently, 40 of our 155 coaches are veterans, which is vital to those veteran clients who feel particularly alone in their experience transitioning to civilian life. Many of our coaches hold master's degrees in law, engineering, social work, or have been Human Resource professionals, business consultants, and professors at major educational institutions, in addition to their required coaching credentials. Along with their breadth of knowledge and coaching acumen, our coaches are compassionate and deeply care for the veterans they coach.
Your DONATION will have a direct impact by helping us coach more veterans than ever before! We and the veterans we serve will be eternally grateful to you for making their successful transitions into new jobs, academic life, or entrepreneurship possible. You're part of the Stand Beside Them family! Thanks!!
Very truly yours,
Stephanie Richmond, Founder/CEO, Stand Beside Them, Inc. PS: we're a 501c3 approved charity (EIN # 46-2080588) so your donation is tax-deductible and a receipt will be provided.
